About Professor Blattman:
Professor Michael Blattman began his extensive career in the financial services industry serving as director with Sallie Mae in Washington, D.C. Later, he joined Collegiate Funding Services as senior vice president. He then served a 10-year tenure at CIT Group as senior vice president of Corporate Business Development, after which he joined Merrill Lynch. He also served as the dean of Business and Accounting at a New York City college.
Since 1981, Professor Blattman has taught for UMUC as a business and accounting adjunct professor, as well as serving four years as a full-time collegiate faculty professor teaching courses in Wiesbaden, Germany. In 2014, he received the UMUC Teaching Recognition Award. From June 2011 to August 2014, Professor Blattman was a featured guest contributor for two weekly economic segments that aired on Armed Forces Network (AFN) Radio throughout Europe and parts of Asia, and he has started recording segments again.
Professor Blattman received a Bachelor of Arts from Queens College, City University of New York and an MBA in Accounting from St. John’s University in New York City.
